I have been learning about writing a discussion.

I have included:- a title, connectives, a conclusion that recommends one view over the other.

Should classrooms be allowed to have pets?                                                                                                                                                                                          

Many people question whether classrooms should have pets, if they are healthy or interfere with learning.  

I am going to discuss points for and against having a class pet.

Primarily, class pets teach  children to be responsible because class pets teach  children how to look after animals by feeding and caring for them.

On the other hand, class pets interfere with learning and can be a big distraction to children who are trying to learn because they  make lots of noise and  children can get timid to play with them.  

In conclusion, I strongly believe that classes should be allowed to have pets on special occasions so children can learn about different breeds of animals.

The Hungry Squirrel

The Hungry Squirrel

Early one morning near the edge of the forest a tiny squirrel was foraging for nuts.

While high above him a giant hawk was circling for food. The squirrel sensed something.               

He lifted his tail and slowly raised his head. Danger! He caught a glimpse of a giant hawk.

His fur stood on end. He was very frightened. His eyes widened and he spread his legs       ready to run.

The hawk’s had yellow eyes and has a yellow beak.

Then hawk saw the squirrel. The squirrel darted up a tree but the hawk found him so he speed into the forest.  The hawk  spotted him.

The hawk grabbed him by his bushy tail but he scratched the hawk’s foot and the squirrel fell into a tree. He watched the hawk fly away. Then continued foraging for nuts.
